While sleeping last night, my ice maker broke and the flo-n-stop floor sensor sounded an alarm and it shut the water off in my entire apartment, saving a water flood all over my wood floors.

I am so happy that the leak from the ice maker did not cause a flood or ruiun my floors.

It’s time for Insurance Companies to Step Up!!

There is every reason to expect Insurance Companies that write Homeowners Insurance Policies to Single Family Homes and Condominium Associations, to provide a discount to homeowners who have installed an automatic water shut-off system in their dwelling to prevent catastrophic water damage. However, they don’t, but they should!

The reason they don’t is because until very recently there was no Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve available to meet State and Local Plumbing Codes for potable drinking water and that is suitable to be legally installed into household water systems which meets the approval of Municipal Inspectors.

This situation is now resolved! The FLO n STOP™ Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve, LF22950, is now Certified to NSF/ANSI 61, Annex G and is in compliance with California’s Health & Safety Code Section 116875, (commonly known as AB1956), and Vermont Act 193. The Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve meets the requirements of Section 1417 of the Safe Drinking Water Act and Public Law 111-380 and is also Certified to UL429 and CSA C22.2 No. 139.

FLO n STOP™ the World’s Best Wireless Water Shut Off System provides round the clock protection against accidental unwanted household water events caused by faulty or worn gaskets, burst water hoses, broken pipes, defective water appliances, overflowing tubs and toilets, etc. If a water event should occur, any resultant water damage would be almost nonexistent when the FLO n Stop™ system is in installed.

After the Plumber has installed the Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve into the water supply line, the ready to operate Wireless Activation Components can be easily installed by the homeowner simply by plugging the wireless Modules into the household electrical outlets.

The battery powered Wireless Button Pad Controller is designed to be placed on a wall convenient to the most used point of entry and exit to the dwelling. This convenient location gives the homeowner the ability to be pro Active to shut off the water to the entire household every time the home is left unoccupied. Whether the home is unoccupied for 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 weeks or 5 months, it is recommended that the water be shut off as a water event could occur at any time.

Not everyone in the household is aware of the location of the main water shut off valve should a water event occur. It is not uncommon for the main water valve to be situated in an inconvenient location and the valve handle difficult to turn off should an emergency situation exist. The Button Pad Controller is convenient and easily accessible for teens through seniors to quickly shut off the water supply at a touch of a button.

During the night when the household is asleep, the 24/7 Water Sentinel wireless floor sensors, (on the floor in every area there is water appliance), are at all times protecting the dwelling from water damage. Water discharging from a defective appliance or a ruptured pipe or hose is silent. Should the smallest amount of water on the floor reach the 24/7 Water Sentinel, an alarm will sound, and a wireless signal is transmitted that will immediately shut off the Solenoid Valve saving the dwelling from a costly and potentially catastrophic water damage situation.

While Insurance Companies will make considerable payment for the cost of restoring the property after water damage has occurred, there are concerns that every homeowner should be informed about:

• The homeowner will have to pay a deductible that in all probability will cost more than the cost of the FLO n STOP™ Wireless Water Shut Off System.

• If mold develops as a result of the water damage it is quite possible that you may not have coverage for mold infestation as many policies exclude this coverage. The homeowner may have to pay for the expensive remediation of the mold infestations, which sometimes exceed the cost of the property.

• There are thousands of law suits currently pending against Insurance Companies that have refused to pay for mold remediation of properties that was caused by water damage.

• If the water damage is at such an extent that causes you to move to a temporary location, usually this cost is not paid for by the Insurance Company.

• The Insurance Industry keeps a Database called a “CLUE List” that enables all insurance companies to track you and your properties claim history to determine their risk factor of providing you with insurance.

• The homeowners claim history can cause major problems when selling the property, refinancing, or getting a home equity loan as this claim history leaves the property marked in the eyes of the insurance companies and the banks. If you can’t get insurance on the home you can’t get a loan.

• The fact that in condominiums and high-rise properties, the homeowner causing the originating leak is responsible for any water damage to any of the units below and to other surrounding units. Many expensive law suits are filed each year as a result of water damage.

It is not a matter of if you will have water damage to your dwelling, but when and where will you be when it occurs?

With the FLO n STOP™ Wireless Water Shut-Off System you have protection day and night, 24/7, away or at home,

Viton Diaphragm

The recently Certified NSF/ANSI 61 Annex G Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve, 1" FIP, P/N LF22950, is an integral component of the FLO n STOP TM Wireless Water Shut Off System. The Valve incorporates a Viton Diaphragm for dependable and consistent operation. Generally, Life Cycle Testing requires the material to be resilient for about 700,000 cycles. Above average usage of the system is about four (4) cycles per day. The tested resiliency of the Viton Diaphragm would equate to well over 400 years of operation.

Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve with Manual Override

Features of the LN22950 Lead Free Brass Solenoid Valve, include an easily activated "Manual Override" lever switch on the valve. The valve was recently Certified to NSF/ANSI 61 Annex G.  When power is activated the Normally Closed, (NC), Solenoid Valve remains open providing full flow of water.  During a power outage the Solenoid Valve immediately shuts off the flow of water ensuring that the dwelling will not experience an unwanted water event.  Turning the "Manual Override" lever switch restores the flow of water through the Lead Free Solenoid Valve for normal water usage.  When power is restored the "Manual Override" lever switch should be returned to the previous position for remote automatic activation. The LF22950 Lead Free Solenoid Valve is the "Heart" of the FLO n STOP TM Wireless Water Shut Off System. The FLO n STOP TM System is designed  to automatically prevent catastrophic household water damage to Real and Personal Property in both single family and condominium dwellings.

Floor Sensor Alarm rang relentlessly in the middle of night - and turned Water OFF!

A few weeks ago, while sleeping, our FLOnSTOP floor sensor alarm went off relentlessly which finally woke me up. I went into the bathroom to turn off the alarm and saw a puddle of water on the floor between the tub and toilet. The next morning my husband pushed the floor sensor button back on which restored our water. He immediately noticed water overflowing from the top of the toilet tank. Had we not had the FLOnSTOP System, we would have had a huge flood that would have been undetected for many hours.

Water could have penetrated many apartments below us as we live on the 6th floor of a condominium building. We are so thankful to have had this system installed, as it saved us the embarrassment and inconvenience that a messy water situation could have caused to our personal belongings, as well as to our neighbors property. I shudder to think of the damage that could have occurred had we not had the system installed.

For a small investment, we would all have peace of mind.

"FLOnSTOP is now in Hawaii and Canada. My Bucket list includes the wish that everyone in Building D have FLOnSTOP and eliminate water damage.

This past week my dishwasher started to leak. The FLOnSTOP Floor Sensor turned off the water in the apartment because of my remote FLOnSTOP. So, another water disaster was eliminated before it happened!! For a small investment, we would all have peace of mind.
